Configure a SmarterMail in Outlook as IMAP or POP Account

Follow the below steps to create an Outlook POP3 or IMAP account:

In Outlook, go to File, Click the Info tab

  •    Click Add Account
  •    Click Manually configure server settings or additional server types radio button.
  •    Click Next.
  •    Click the Internet Email radio button.
  •    Click Next

Enter the following information: 

   1.Your Name: <Display Name you want to use, i.e., Joe Smith>
   2.Email address: <Full email address, i.e., [email protected]>
   3.Incoming Server: smartermail1.leapswitch.com
   4.Outgoing Mail server:  smartermail1.leapswitch.com
   5.User name: <Full email address, i.e., [email protected]>
   6.Password: <Your email account password>

Configure SMTP Authentication - 

1. Co
nfigure SSL Ports -

2. Click on More Settings.

3. Navigate to Outgoing Server Tab

4. Check "My Outgoing Server requires SMTP Authentication".

5. Click OK.

6. Click on More Settings

7. Click on Advanced

8. For POP3 use port 995 or for IMAP use port 993.

9. Check "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)".

10. Outgoing SMTP server, use port 465

11. Use the following type of encrypted connection, select Auto

12. Click OK.
