This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to use the Pritunl Client to access the ILO/iDRAC/IPMI interfaces for dedicated servers. Follow the guidelines below for a smooth and secure connection.


Step 1: Install the Pritunl Client

Follow the installation steps based on your operating system.

For Windows:

  1. Download the Pritunl Client from Pritunl Downloads.

  2. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

For Ubuntu:

  1. Open a terminal and add the Pritunl repository:

    echo "deb https://repo.pritunl.com/stable/apt focal main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pritunl.list
    sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 7568D9BB55FF9E5287D586017AE645C0CF8E292A
    sudo apt-get update
  2. Install the Pritunl Client:

    sudo apt-get install pritunl-client-electron

For macOS:

  1. Download the macOS client from Pritunl Downloads.

  2. Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag the Pritunl application into the Applications folder.


Step 2: Obtain the VPN Profile

  1. Contact your server administrator(Infra Team) to get the VPN profile. This will be provided either as a URI link or a .ovpn file.


Step 3: Import the VPN Profile

If You Have a URI Link:

  1. Open the Pritunl Client.

  2. Click on "Import Profile".

  3. Select "Import from URI".

  4. Paste the URI link into the provided field and click "Import".

If You Have an .ovpn File:

  1. Open the Pritunl Client.

  2. Click on "Import Profile".

  3. Select "Import from File".

  4. Browse to the location of the .ovpn file, select it, and click "Open".


Step 4: Connect to the VPN

  1. After importing the profile, it will appear in the Pritunl client interface.

  2. Click on the profile to select it.

  3. Click the "Connect" button.

  4. Enter your username and password if prompted.

  5. Once connected, the client will display the VPN connection status.


Step 5: Access ILO/iDRAC/IPMI

  1. After establishing the VPN connection:

    • Open your browser.

    • Enter the IP address or hostname of the ILO, iDRAC, or IPMI interface for the dedicated server.

  2. Authenticate using the credentials provided by your administrator.

  3. Use the interface to manage the server as needed.

Note:

  1. Ensure timely utilization of the provided pritunl link as it expires after 24 hours.
  2. For accessing console of HP-ILO/DELL-idrac use internet explorer and .net to access the console or you can use chrome/firefox and HTML to view Console.
  3. For accessing console of Supermicro use Java 8 or supermicro IPMIView.
  4. For accessing console of Asus use Java 7.
  5. For security reasons, do not share your access credentials or URI with unauthorized individuals.
